Vidya (7 BBY - ) was an independent Cathar pilot in the employ of Tirus Blackthorne.
Background[]
Vidya was born on the Cathar homeworld, the youngest of two daughters born to her parents. Living in one of Cathar's tree-dwelling clans, their was a very traditional family, with their father annually taking part in the ritual of the Blood Hunt. The rest of the time, both he and her mother focused on the care of their family unit. All told, it was a very nice way to grow up.
Sadly, it also was not to last. During one of the family's rare trips off-world during her teens, the ship they had booked passage aboard was besieged by pirates. Her father was lost as he tried to help the crew fend off the attack, while the survivors - both in her family and everyone else aboard the small liner - were taken prisoner to be sold into slavery. In the process, Vidya was separated from her mother and sister, winding up the property of a Coruscanti gentleman and his family.
Her time as a slave was blessedly free of the trauma many slaves face with less kind owners, such as those found in the Outer Rim Territories - she was more of an employee working for a meal and a place to stay than anything less savory, and she was given enough of an education to fulfill the duties put to her by her owners. Still, she was not happy. By the time she was twenty-two, she was able to escape her captivity - how, she refuses to specify - and struck out on her own. She began a search not only for ways to support herself, but for any information with regards to the whereabouts of her family, and the identity of the pirate crew responsible for the turn her life had taken.
Recent Events[]
After ending up stranded on Tatooine with no particular destination in mind for getting off of it, Vidya found herself at an impass - albeit one that was a little easier to bear after a friendly passer-by recommended a nearby cantina as a way to pass the time. While there, she overheard a conversation at a table nearby, which led her to introduce herself to Tirus Blackthorne. One Tatooine Sunburn and a quick conversation later, he agreed to take her on as a pilot on a trial basis.
