Fleet Commodore is a military rank, typically applied in a pro tempore or transitional fashion, for a officer associated with members of a starfighter corps, most notibly the Imperial Starfighter Corps. These are often seasoned officers who were given a starfighter command. The rank may be given as a per-need field promotion (and be recinded as such), or as a permanent promotion in keeping to an order of ascendency to that of High Marshal status.
In Imperial Service Edit
Template:Rank plate In the Imperial Starfighter Corps, a Fleet Commodore generally held a starfighter command. A typical command would consist of at least four groups depending on the task force assembled. At a minimum, a command had 1152 ships, 1920-4800 officers, and 2880-8640 enlisted. They were addressed as commodore. If a command had more than one Fleet Commodore, one would be appointed Fleet Commodore and the other Fleet Executive Officer. If appointed as a staff officer they would act as an assistant to a Vice Marshal. A Commodore was considered a junior member of the Marshals, and was considered and respected as such by their subordinates.
