Star Wars MUSH: New Worlds is a consent based environment. Which means random or malicious PKing without reason is forbidden (and also impossible through any coded means). The purpose of this is to emphasis our story-first approach to game play. We encourage ROLE play over ROLL play at any scene, TP, or event.

How Consent Works[]

Consent can be summed up as: ICA = ICC (In Character Actions is equal to In Character Consequences), however, before a char can move into a situation where they risk death or major injury the other party must issue a warning. If the warning is not issued the other player is not at fault for denying their char death or injury (with the exception of battle related RP, this is an obvious one folks: If blasters, lightsabers, and starships are involved you risk at the very least injury)

If player X visits player Y to get a loan. Player Y might have rules about collection and thus OOC warns and notes this warning with a GM/Admin that if player X fails to pay his loan back or misses a payment he risks an ICC. This will be noted and defined with the staff. Thus player X has consented to injury or death if x fails to pay his loan back.

Auto-Consent[]

There is no such thing as auto-consent (with the exception of the appreciation/recognition of the risk of injury in battle). No player can issue an auto-consent warning around their player. If a player is discovered to have an auto-consent around interacting with them, they will be reprimanded.

An example of auto-consent is: Player A notifies all players in their +finger note that RPing with them auto-consents to death or injury. This is forbidden because it hinders RP.

Abuse Clause[]

Consent is not a shield for ignorant behavior. If a player runs to Coruscant and shoots at the Emperor with a blaster ICA=ICC will be issued even if a warning is not issued. GMs, Judges, and Admin reserve the right to declare the abuse clause. The abuse clause is designed to prevent players from walking over the game and damaging our story as well. In heroic and major events or if trying something risky there is an expected measure of consequence. Consult with players and Factions before trying things that might be registered as an abuse of the consent policy.
