A special news bulletin is aired during the repeated showings of the Galactic Swoop League's races recently held on The Wheel. A fiery-haired, dreadlocked Firrerreo woman who would look more at place in a dive cantina than a news program flickers on-screen, flashing the camera a fangy smile. Text identifies her simply as Freya.
"Hello, race fans! Your friendly neighborhood race correspondent here with some breaking news!"
As she speaks, footage from a slightly unsteady camera shows a swoop recklessly speeding down The Wheel's track, until it suffers a horrendous crash. "We're sure you all remember Ranma Hoshiakarui's /spectacular/ crash during the G4 races just a few days ago. While she survived the crash, rumors have since begun swirrrrling through the station that the racer of the Crimson Wraith has vanished from the station's medical facility."
She suddenly leans into the camera, her eyes wide and grin massive. "It's RUMOR NO MORE, race fans! Your intrepid reporter has confirmed this as /fact/! And noone seems to know where she's gone! Rest assured, we will be tracking this story as it develops and will make sure to include all of our findings in the next issue of Swoop Illustrated, where you can read the interview I had with our missing rising star just days before her disappearance!"
She settles back on her heels and winks playfully at the camera. "But for now, it's back into the trenches for me, and back to the reruns for you. Comin' up, it's the G3 race, right here on the GSL."
